Found some info on bamboo treatment. It seems sea water is the old way. Newer method is to soak in borax and boric acid mixture. I don’t know much about building, bamboo or otherwise, so I’m passing this on. From what I read, there is no peeling, but has to be treated immediately after cutting. It works through osmosis, sort of like putting cut flowers or plants in water to keep fresh. This is copied from the website:

"untreated bamboo would only last 2 years at best. but when properly treated right after harvesting, bamboo can last as long as 30-50 years.The treatment basically flushes out the sweet sap inside the bamboo through an osmotic process and a substance that is offensive or unbearable to the potential borers is made to seep into the bamboo fibers. the traditional method has been to soak the freshly cut bamboo in seawater for 30-60 days. newer methods use a flushing mixture of borax and boric acid for no less than 14 days. treatment can be done faster using heat (max 75 Celsius over 6 hours with the borax/boric acid mix) or by enclosing the bamboo inside a pressurized chamber with the same mix for a few hours. check out the bembu institute of www.cabiokid.org for details regarding the mixture. take note that the bamboo has to be sealed from the outside to minimize the effect of moisture and humidity to which it is very sensitive."

A Registered Nurse should not be giving medical advice reserved for a physician. Flu shots are available annually for people who are in contact with a large number of people such as hospital workers. Also, they are available for the aged who have a suppressed immune system.

The average person can get along fine with one, in fact many times the vaccine is not affective against the recent strain as it is based upon last years epidemic. Tetanus should be given every 10-years or whenever you have an open wound.

So, as I stated, I would only worry about Hepatitis A and B immunizations, as far as polio, tetanus, flu, pneumonia, pertussis, measles, diphtheria, and varicella, you don’t need them unless there is an outbreak of the disease, which is very rare is good advice!

My neighbor brought a solar electric (livestock type) from the USA and put it on top of his wall, it works great. He had a guy painting part of his house and the guy got shocked. Dick

The heater unit is actually an appliance made by German, Indian, Japanese, etc. companies. It is usually the size of a mail box (10" X 8" X 4"). It is usually 220V and is single or multiple point delivery. Single point means there’s only one water output and that’s through a shower head. Multi-point really means dual output; one to the shower head, and another to a bath tub or any basis. The unit goes by 3.5W - 8W, depending on how hot you want the water to come out. I have a 6.5W unit and the water that comes out really gets very, very hot at the highest level. I usually shower using the middle level.

The salesman claims that my unit does not allow water to stand still and accumulate mineral deposits in the heating unit. When I inspected the unit inside, I saw that the small inner tank is smooth and oblong shape. Perhaps this design really makes the water drain completely when not in use.

If you have an open wound, get a tetanus shot only if your last shot has been more then 10-years. Most people never keep up with the immunizations schedules, but all immunizations aside from flu shots and pneumonia shots are good indefinitely.

Anyone who says otherwise just doesn’t know what they are talking about.
